The Roxy on Gabriola Island will be hosting the 3rd Annual Concert for the Commons this Saturday, December 5th at 7:30 pm.  The concert will feature Victor Anthony, Kathy McIntyre, Nathan Tinkham, Alison Humphries, Sarah Tradewell, Lloyd Arntzen and Ken Capon.
Tickets are $15 at the door and may also be purchased in advance at Artworks.

VI Symphony will open their first show this season Saturday Oct 24 at the Port Theatre with a show that celebrates the music of northern composers.  Featuring violinist Jasper Wood, they will perform “Aurora Borealis” by Vancouver’s Frederic Shipizky, Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor and  Sibelius’ Symphony No.2.
