Starting today at 5pm the Nanaimo Blue Festival begins and goes until Sunday. Take some time out and head downtown to the Diana Krall Plaza and enjoy some Nanaimo Blues. This is their 5th year of the Nanaimo Blues Festival. There will be lots of talented musicians such as Steve Kozak & the Westcoast Blues Revue on tonight at 8:30pm, Friday night at 9pm Nanaimo’s very own David Gogo will be on stage, plus the award winning Bill Johnson Blues Band on Saturday night at 8:30pm and closing the Festival on Sunday is Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne at 6:30pm.
Also, The Blues Underground will be holding workshops on drums with Paul Nixon, guitars with David Gogo,and vocals with Summer Hay plus harp with Garry Barnum starting Friday until Sunday.
