Have you seen the flower bed at Pym Street and the Island Hwy in Parksville?
Parksville is having some fun and holding a contest to name the floral peacock.
The rules are simple – enter your suggestion for the peacock name and a short description as to why your suggestion is the best. The contest is open to everyone.
The Parks Department will sift through the suggestions and choose a name. If there’s more than one entry with the same name, the winner will be drawn at random.
Last date to enter is August 2. There will be a prize for the winner!

“Pavo” is the genus of the pheasant family and “flora” refers to the plant life occurring in a particular region, generally the naturally occurring or indigenous plant life. Hence the name “Pavoflora” embodies the Peacock image and visual composition of the Parksville’s garden.
