The Upper Island Music Festival is looking for performing artists who would like to participate in their 2010 festival. The deadline to enter is January 15, 2010.
The Upper Island Music Festival has sections in piano, brass and woodwind, strings, vocal, speech and dramatic art and dance. The music festival began in 1927 when Andrew Dunsmore organized a group of interested people to discuss the need for a festival in the central and upper island area. With the assistance of Mr. R.T. Coveney, this idea became a reality with the first annual competition held May 17 – 18, 1928.
