Is your non profit group looking for extra cash? The city of Nanaimo is offering cash to those groups who pick up trash on the city streets. This is just once in the spring and once in the fall. The City will contribute $50 per kilometre to the non-profit group upon completion of its assigned area.
The 2010 program is available for a limited number of registered non-profit groups. Participating organizations require a minimum of six volunteers per group who are at least 12 years old.
Contact City of Nanaimo Public Works at 250-758-5222 to get an application form. Deadline for receipt of completed applications is March 12, 2010.
