Poets will converge on Gabriola Island November 12-15th and will entertain using poetry, storytelling, spoken-word, music and theatre.
Performances include:
- “Suitcase Local”, the folk opera written by Hilary Peach, directed by Kathleen Weiss, and featuring guitarist Alex Varty and percussionist Andreas Kahre
- “A Place to Call Home”, a unique blend of music, lyrics and stories of true life written and performed by Pat Braden.
- “Timeless Tips For Girls Who Have Let Themselves Go” by Sheila Norgate who will be paired with Toronto theatre and spoken-word artist Evalyn Parry.
- Paul Dutton, member of the Four Horsemen, and experimental poet Christian Bök, author of the Griffin Poetry Prize winning Eunoia, will team up to provide avant-garde
- Alexis O’Hara, poet, storyteller and sound artist, will transform and multiply her voice with various forms of hi-and-low-technology
- Gabriola’s own Radio After Dark performing “Workshop Meltdown”
- Closing the festival is the prominent, multi-talented Vancouver spoken-word ensemble, The Fugitives.
