Wanted: Actors for Pack of Lies

Actors are wanted for “Pack of Lies” showing at Bailey Theatre in Nanaimo, next March to April 2012.

The Jacksons are a nice, middle-aged couple who live next door to their best friends, the Krogers. All is blissful until a Scotland Yard detective asks to use the Jackson house as an observation post to try and foil a Soviet spy ring.

Show runs from March 28th to April 14th, 2012
Actors required are:
Bob Jackson – Age: 45 – 55, English accent
Barbara Jackson – Same age range as husband, English accent
Julie Jackson – Age: should look about 17, English accent
Helen Kroger – Age: 30 – 50, Canadian accent
Peter Kroger – Same age range as Helen, Canadian accent
Mr. Stewart – Age: 50 – 65, English accent
Thelma & Sally – Age: 25 – 50, English accents Audition pieces will be provided.

Call for Young Actors – in Nanaimo

Actors are needed for “Snow White,” a Christmas pantomime coming to the Bailey Studio.

Snow White falls for a ‘commoner’ and while the evil stepmother tries to thwart their happiness, the daffy dwarfs help and hinder and the dragon saves the day!

Audition Dates: Saturday, Sept. 17th – 2 to 5pm  and Saturday, Sept. 24th – 2 to 5pm
at the Bailey Studio 2373 Rosstown Road, Nanaimo.

Casting Call for children 12 years and older, who love to sing, dance and interact with audiences.  Prepare 16 bars of a song of your choice to be sung without accompaniment (a cappella).

Rehearsals will be held in late October and performances will start mid December.

Over the River and Through the Woods

The Nanaimo Theatre Group’s play “Over the River and Through the Woods” has won  first place at the North Island Theatre Festival. 

To celebrate this achievement, Nanaimo Theatre Group will hold three performances:  June 24 and June 25th at 8:00pm and June 26th at 2:00 pm.

If you’re in Kamloops July 2nd, they will be performing their award winning play at the Sagebrush Theatre for the province wide theatre festival Mainstage 2011.

Something’s Afoot with Nanaimo Theatre Group

Mystery is afoot with the Nanaimo Theatre Group!  They will be performing “Something’s Afoot” from May 18th to June 4, 2011 at the Bailey Theatre.

‘A madcap Murder Mystery Musical’ based on the Agatha Christie novel Ten Little Indians

A diverse group of people are invited to the lonely island estate of Lord Dudley Rancour.  When the wealthy Lord is found dead, mayhem results and a race against time begins to find out whodunnit!

Over the River Theatre in Nanaimo

“Over the River and Through The Woods” is an upcoming play presented by the Nanaimo Theatre Group: 

Nick is a single Italian-American guy from New Jersey, who visits both sets of grandparents every Sunday for dinner.

When he is offered his dream job in Seattle, the grandparents plan a series of schemes to stop him from leaving them … including the lovely and single Caitlin O’Hara!

“Over the River and Through The Woods” will be showing at the Bailey Theatre March 23rd to April 9th, 2011.  Show times are 2:00pm (March 27th & April 3rd only) and 8:00pm.

Barefoot in the Park on at Bailey Studio Nanaimo

Are you looking for local theatre entertainment this February? The Nanaimo Theatre Group is performing “BAREFOOT IN THE PARK” written by Neil Simon by permission of Samuel French.

Barefoot in the Park runs from Wednesday, February 2, 2011 to Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Bailey Studio, 2373 Rosstown Road, Nanaimo.

Show Times are 8:00pm  / Matinee – February 6, 2011 & February 13, 2011 at  2:00pm.

This romantic comedy centers around Paul and Corrie, newlyweds living in a 6th floor walk-up in New York. Corrie would like Paul to shed his “stuffed shirt” attitudes plus she’d like to introduce her mother to the kooky upstairs neighbour, Mr. Velasco.  Things get really crazy after a night on the town with the two couples!
