The Parksville Fire Department Recruitment Campaign is on!
The Parksville Volunteer Fire Department is recruiting community minded; spirited individuals who enjoy team efforts. Similar to many communities in British Columbia, Parksville relies on volunteer firefighters. Applicants must live in the Parksville Fire Protection area, be reasonably fit, a high school graduate, have a good driving record, be available for weekly fire practices and be between the ages of 19 and 60 for regular members. A junior member program is offered for ages 16 to 19.
The PVFD is accepting applications for volunteer firefighters until March 25.
Applications are available from Parksville Fire Headquarters at 120 Jensen Avenue West, by calling 250 248-3242 or online at www.pvfd.ca. Applicants will be contacted in early April for interviews and the recruit class start date is scheduled for May 2, 2011.
