Recording of Significant Trees in Qualicum

Did you know that significant trees have been recorded in the Town of Qualicum?

Seventy-two tree specimens have been measured and photographed and are included in a carved wooden album on display at the Town Hall.

As part of the Communities in Bloom endeavour, the Town of Qualicum Beach established a working committee to describe and record trees considered to be significant. Criteria used by the committee members included native or exotic specimens notable for their size, their history, their cultural links, or for their ornamental characteristics.

The Town of Qualicum has prepared a Significant Trees walking/driving tour brochure for people to use to view the significant trees. For more information visit Town of Qualicum on blogroll.
